Meaning Behind Heavenly Junk

In 2015 we started out as Southern Treasures. After our 1st show at Junklahoma we learned that we could get in a lot of trouble with trademarks. So we quickly decided that we needed to change our name because someone already had our name trademarked in Oklahoma. A name just makes it real so we needed one fast. Like I heard one time 'A new business is like a new baby. Once you name it it feels real and you will treat it like a business.' So now here came the hard part. We wanted it to have Junk in the name because that is what we was selling. But we couldn't just call it "Junk" it needed something else. Hubby and I talked about it for a week or more. Every time we would come up with something it would be taken. Then we said we wanted God to be in our business so we both prayed and the hubby said 'Heavenly Junk' because our treasures are not here on earth they are up in Heaven. So I checked it and it wasn't taken. So Heavenly Junk it was.

Now we have played with logos since then but nothing has just jumped out at us. This is something we are just going to keep working on until God shows us that too.

Before every show we pray at our booth that we can help customers to show them what they can do with the junk, that we brought the right stuff for that show, and that we might be able to make enough money to pay the bills that need to be paid for that month. Putting God first not only in our business but in our marriage also helps Heavenly Junk be what it is today. In 2013 my husband and I had a HUGE fight. So much so that we almost got a divorce. I hate even talking about it because it was so bad but after that fight we pray every night together and it helps so much. That is why when we wanted to start this I wanted God to come first. We even try to do show near one of our churches so we could go to church on Sunday before coming home. It is tough to get up after a show but it makes a better week.

'But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Matthew 6:20-21

Happy Junkin'
